Description

The Tulip Nebula was imaged with my portable OSC setup from my backyard as a test of multitarget imaging in a single night using NINA advanced sequences.  Unfortunately I had serious problems with my FSQ-85's stock Takahashi focuser and Sesto Senso 2 combination during the run and only got less than half a night on the first target (Tulip) and no data at all on my second target (Flaming Star Nebula) since autofocus started failing around 12:15a because the focuser wasn't moving properly.  I've made some adjustments hoping to remedy the situation with stronger/slower motor settings on the Sensto Senso 2, manually running the focuser in and out to hopefully improve lubrication, checking all the bearing connections, and re-calibrating the focus motor.  We'll see if it works better tonight.  I've always intended to eventually replace the stock focuser on the scope with a Nitecrawler to add a rotator, get rid of the Takahashi CAA, and make it bullet-proof, but eventually may become sooner rather than later if I continue to lose imaging time to focuser issues.  This was a challenging target to process since I didn't have enough data really and there's a lot of faint nebulosity in a very rich starfield.  I will probably revise this image once I have more data.
