Description

Lagoon Nebula, my favorite deep sky object is back up, though just barely 😂. Lagoon stays pretty low, only reaching 18° altitude from Mollenberg Observatory, and also I don't have a large imaging window looking South/Southwest, so double challenging. Whereas last year's attempt was 60 second subs, I went deeper this time and did 200 seconds. Tracking that low in the sky is not great with my mount and looking through lots of atmosphere, but still happy with the result.

This image is the result of 80% of 45 x 200" lights at gain 121, stacked with darks, flats and dark flats. Imaged with my ED80, Celestron AVX scope and Optolong CLS CCD filter. Captured with NINA, stacked in APP and post processing in Photoshop.
