Description

After two years of progress I take another attempt on the Butterfly Nebula near Sadr. This subject was part of my very first astro image that I took with my Canon EOS 5DII two years ago. This time I used my TS APO 350mm Quadruplet scope together with my ASI183MM Pro. The FOV is big enough to get the subject onto the sensor. The image could have been improved by using my ASI294MM with a larger sensor. But this camera was shooting on my 8" Newt. So I have to take what was there.

The image was shot using my cheaper SVBony Ha and the Optolong OIII and SII filter. I spent several nights on this target. I tried to collect at least 10 hours of data per filter. I really like the result. I was quite late this year to aim for Sadr. In the evening, the star was already near the zenith when it gets dark. But I managed to get what I was looking for. I hope you enjoy it, too.
