Description

M4, also catalogued as NGC 6121, is a globular cluster that can be seen approximately 1.5 degrees from Antares in the constellation of Scorpius.  It is about 6000-7200 light years away, making it the closest known globular cluster to Earth. The core of the cluster is loosely concentrated with a recognisable string of stars running across the centre.

RGB acquisition was unguided (guide camera not working at the time). The picture was processed in PixInsight.
