Everyone will remember the famous Pillars of creation wonderfully immortalized by HST. With an amateur scope, it is a no brainer that whatever will be the material and technology used, the best result cannot be comparable to what the HST did. Fromy my end, by considering my setting with a limited focal lenght of 1280mm and that my remote scope is in Spain (M16 is at maximum 38° over the horizon), it is very challenging to achieve a highly resolved image. I therefore pushed the system to show something much less considered by astrophotographers, which is the beauty of the surrounding.
So, I still pushed for the maximum resolution I could obtain with my setting by selecting the best 151 Ha subs out of more than 250, where for some nights I kept only few ones. in this respect, I was lucky because I had 3 nights with an excellent seeing. But as mentioned, I also pushed to capture the nebula surrounding by playing softly with the contrasts and colors transitions and exploiting the natural complexity of the gases.
With respect to the treatment I used SPCC to calibrate the stars and reasonably used BXT to avoid over-sharpening. I very slightly denoised the final image, but the denoising contribution is almost unnoticeable.

Description: Reworked out the darkest sections of the nebula to capture some residual signal, which was close to "non existing" and yet still real. The framing was slightly adapted accordingly.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
