Description

Last week I went to the dark skies of Alentejo to photograph the beautiful Iris Nebula, a reflection nebula that has a very bright central star illuminating the surrounding dust particles of the nebula. It is a broadband target meaning you are collecting a ‘true color’ image, so you need good dark skies free of light pollution for best results.

I chose this target for the first light of my new telescope, the top of the line TS-Optics Triplet CF-APO 80mm and I think we can all agree these stars look beautiful, so very impressed overall.

It took me 11h during 3 nights to produce this result, collecting light with my mono camera and a set of LRGB filters. Can’t wait for my next targets with this scope.
