Description

With apologies to all my AB friends, here is another image of the Rim nebula, Dragons of Ara or NGC6188.
I know that there is nothing new to see in here, but with the moon getting past first quarter and somewhat indifferent conditions, I decided to have a crack at a brighter target.
Besides, I was also keen to see what my RC12 could make of it, as I was pleased with the result from Eta Carine nebula a month or so back.

As with the Eta Carina nebula, I needed to mosaic a couple of panels together.  But somehow I managed to stuff that up and, with further cropping, ended up with mosaiced image not much bigger than a single field.  Oh well.

Nevertheless, I am still happy with the outcome.  The increased aperture really does help with the detail and despite the clouds the SNR was also good.  A larger aperture is not just for faint stuff.

Normally I use the Foraxx palette, but I find that the Dragons of Ara really work best for me in straightforward SHO. [With 80% SCNR in green and purple].

Hope you enjoy, despite the familiarity.
