Description

I have processed this image several times. Taken from an extremely light-polluted city area with the L-Pro light pollution filter, the image showed a lot of gradient on my integration. I finally managed to do a decent job at reducing the gradient using the Light Pollution Tool in AstroPixel Processor. Then, I used NoiseXTerminator in PI (the new add-on) to de-noise it. I used 60% and it seemed more than adequate. Finished it with photometric color calibration and curve stretching. I think I could increase the saturation, but I am happy with the result. Final touch up in Adobe PS for cropping and a darker sky. It's very difficult for me to image M51 from my backyard with all the sorrounding lights and the light dome over the city, but I am happy with the results. What do you think?
