Description

I finally removed my C8 from my CEM25 mount. This mount was repaired after I let it blow over several months back. Since then, it just could not track well enough for the C8 at 1260mm of focal length. I have relegated it to much shorter focal lengths with lighter weights.

I purchased a used GEM45 to carry the C8, and hopefully my 120ED (once I get a dual saddle). This mount does a much better job tracking, and I discard fewer subs due to star trailing.

The sky is still clouded with smoke from time to time so it took many nights to get enough data for this shot.

The open star cluster is NGC 6823, and the emission nebula is SH2-86. There is a small reflection nebula NGC 6820 nearby which was visible in my RGB data, but reflection nebula and my skies don't get along so I did not try to include it in the final image.
