Description

The 19th goal, Alpine Valley, is a prominent lunar feature that is part of the Lunar 100. Alpine Valley, also known as Vallis Alpes, is a long and narrow valley located on the lunar near side, stretching for about 166 kilometers across the surface. It is believed to be a graben, a type of linear depression formed by faulting, and is surrounded by steep cliffs that rise up to several hundred meters in height.
