Description

We had another extraordinary dark night for astrophotography on the 14th of August. Conditions were nearly perfect for imaging darker DSO objects from the dark spot on Kozjak (Slovenia)
This tiem there was no Moon in the morning and the humidity was lower then the previous night.
I had the telescope pointed towards the Iris nebula an object I never shot before. It is a very popular object but I knew it has interesting surroundings with lots of dark nebula which I find most interesting. The smaller RedCat51 telescope allowed me to capture a wider view of te Iris nebula ( LBN 487 ) with lots of dusty "ghosts" around the nebula including the famous Ghost Nebula (designated Sh2-136, VdB 141). Mounting the Avalon M-UNO
Telescope WO RedCat51, 250 mm
ZWO ASI2600MC PRO camera cooled to -10˚ C
Astronomik L2 filter
55 shots of 300 seconds each (aprox. 4,6 h), gain 100, offset 50
Data aquisition with APT
Data preparation and processing in Pixinsight and Photoshop.
