Description

Dear astronomers,

As the weather has been quite bad recently, my kids and I were looking for an object that is visible all night long in order to have the chance to get at least some light when there are short time periods without clouds.

We ended up chsing NGC 2841 although it's rather small, but it is really incredible and very fascinating - especially for the kids - how much galaxies there are out there. Just on this image are so many differen types of galaxies recognizable and even two that seem to be coupled (s. bottom right of the image).

I hope that we'll get some more clear nights to add signal to this object, but as the weather forecast isn't promising, I already wanted to share the current status with you.

This time I spent quite some time thinking about image composition - in case you are en expert on this, I'll be glad to hear your feedback/improvement ideas.

All the best and CS
Timo
