Description

While pursuing my hunting quest for unclassified objects, I stumbled upon G296.5+10, also known as SNR G296.5+10.0 or simply G296.5,  a supernova remnant located in the constellation of Centaurus which has been rarely imaged.

G296.5+10 is believed to be relatively young in astronomical terms, estimated to be around 15,000 years old. It exhibits a shell-like structure characteristic of many supernova remnants, which is formed as the shockwave from the explosion sweeps up and compresses the surrounding interstellar material.
