Description

From my backyard observatory deep in the Southen Hemisphere, I present the Carina Nebula, near to the Southern Cross. It's a target best viewed from the Southern Hemisphere, and in fact you can't even see it at all from most of the Northern Hemisphere.
The light from this one takes 8,500 years to reach us. It's so huge that light would take nearly 500 years to get from one side to the other. And, under a supremely dark sky you can even see this with the naked eye. This one is in SHO with 10 hours of integration and then RGB stars done separately (which I am not too happy with, I need to get better at processing and adding the stars so I may come back and re-process this for better stars)
