Description

Still on a nebula roll, this is another fascinating region! NGC 6559 is a blue reflection nebula surrounded by dust and Hydrogen alpha emissions. The nebula is located 5000 light years away in Sagittarius and in terms of sky position is not far from the Lagoon Nebula. The area is a star forming region and this close up view shows many fascinating features.
Imaged in LRGB on the Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile
Image data acquisition and preprocessing: Mike Selby at www.throughlightandtime.com

Processed by me in Pixinsight and Photoshop.

Was a bit challenging to process since there is so much going on here and it got really crowded!
