Description

M 103 is a known Messier target. It is an open cluster about 8,000 to 9,500 ly from the solar system.

With Moon at 88% and a very humid atmosphere, there was not much choice, I decided to go for a new test of my C6 trying a new approach in PhD guiding that improved my mean error (now 0.4" before it was about 0.8"-1.0" ). I am a bit surprised by this ring artefacts in the more brilliant stars. Is it the optics of the scope or the Optolong filters ? Quite strange. The smallest stars have magnitude above 16, not so bad for 12s subs (14-16 for each channel) during strong Moon. I am looking forward for the galaxies now.
