Description

Dark dust and reflection nebulae are fascinating targets and make travel to a remote dark sky site worth the effort.  This is another photo from my trip to Bortle 2 skies in southern Utah to view the annular solar eclipse and image DSOs at night.  Getting together with @Bruce Larsen and other family members was the highlight of the trip, of course, but capturing some nice astro photos too was the icing on the cake.  This region has become a more popular target lately on Astrobin, but I haven't seen many images at this focal length that highlight the dense dust surrounding vdB 4.
