      Description

After months of clouds in Melbourne Australia, I finally managed to finish capturing and processing this image of SL-17, the second target that I have captured with my ASKAR 107PHQ. This dark nebula is located in the constellation of Scorpius and has an uncanny resemblance to a wolf and is know as the 'Dark Wolf' or 'Fenrir Nebula'. SL17 is situated in the emission nebula RCW113 (or Gum 55).

This nebula does not seem to get imaged too often. I originally planned on processing this image in SHO but I'm not liking the look of it with that palette so far... so I have settled on the HOO with RGB version for now.

One thing that I have done differently this time is to capture my stars with 30s exposure and gain 0 instead of my usual 15s gain 76. The result was much better star colours information when increasing the colour saturation on the stars during processing.
