Description

There are not many good images of Sh2-165 and 166, but this was not the only reason why I aimed at this area. When I recently imaged the area east of the Bubble Nebula (https://www.astrobin.com/csray0/) I accidentally caught an arch like structure with faint Oiii and Ha emissions in one of the corners. I found it was supernova remnant SNR G114.3+0.3, and it may be the first optical image showing this SNR. It looked like it could be surrounding Sh2-165. So a good reason to aim at this Sharpless object with the hope to detect other parts of this SNR. I did not detect any more SNR like structures but the arch became a bit clearer with the additional data. The Oiii emitting part of the arch i seen between Sh2-165 and 166.

A bonus was that I now caught a rarely imaged possibly planetary nebula, seen near the upper left corner of the image. It is We 2-262 (aka PK 116+00.1, PNG 116.1+00.4). Its PN status is doubted. Some info here: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/855111-planetary-nebula-candidate-we-2-262/
