Description

Object of the test:
Photography with the PST CORONADO presents some difficulties, since the optical focus is formed in the eyepiece holder.
However, the site SpaceWeatherLive.com describes a trick, which seems to circumvent this difficulty.
For this, it is imperative to use a photo adapter as short as possible, and to introduce an eyepiece (eye projection) that will have previously disassembled to obtain a very particular assembly...
Let’s see what happens...

Shooting conditions:
Shooting taken late at the end of the day. The sun was already very low on the horizon (19°) ...

Conclusion:
The installation described makes it possible to reach the point of focus, provided that the equipment used is available.
On the other hand, the mounting is extremely unstable, and it becomes very difficult to respect the optical axis of all the elements, causing blurred areas on the shot.
I will personally work to make the system more reliable.

Done in collaboration with Yves Tychené.
