Description

The Sharpless Object Sh2-132 in the constellation Cepheus shows its "lion shape" rather in the outlines of the concise H-alpha emissions. This image dissolves when combining deep H-alpha and OIII data, revealing a complex structure of bright, excited gas emissions and dark nebulae.

The image shows two planetary nebulae in addition to the main object. The small, blue PN G101.5-00.6 at 4 o'clock and the larger PN G102.9-02.3 at 7 o'clock. Beyond that the somewhat inconspicuous open star cluster NGC 7726 can be seen, also in direction 4 o'clock.

The image was taken with a TSCF Apo 80/480 reduced to 384 mm focal length and an ASI 2600mm-pro
