Description

This photo captures the spectacular view of the M57 Nebula, also known to people as the Ring Nebula. Located in the constellation Lyra, this planetary nebula is formed by the gas released from a star approaching its death, symbolizing the end of a star's life and the beginning of cosmic cycles.

The M57 Nebula is one of the most famous planetary nebulae, with a diameter of about 1 light-year and about 2,570 light-years away from us. In this work, we can see the vivid blue-green halo of the M57 Nebula, which is the light emitted by the oxygen in the nebula under ultraviolet radiation. The dim area in the center of the picture is because the dying star in the center has consumed most of the gas. The red halo on the periphery, on the other hand, is the light emitted by hydrogen.

This work is a composite of long exposure and lucky imaging. Lucky imaging contributed to the bright inner ring part of the M57 Nebula. Lucky imaging was 1 second per frame. A total of 9,493 frames were shot, and finally 2,337 frames were screened out based on the size and shape of the star points.
