Description

This is a a two-panel starless mosaic of the Heart of the Rosette Nebula. It's a greyscale image made from combining all SHO data once the individual starless mosaic images have been processed. That means the histograms of each of the individual NB images were adjusted so that they were somewhat equivalent so that the structures of each of the emissions are represented. This results in a somewhat different representation of this area of the Rosette, particularly the emissions represented by Sll.

There is a fare amount of detail in this image. If interested, zoom all the way in and enjoy. OBTW, I think there is an O3 bubble in the upper region of the image. I have seen this formation before, but this representation seems to define it in a different way as more of a three-dimensional structure.

If you have comments about this approach, please put them below.
