Description

This is a really bad target for my unmodified DSLR but I've wanted to image ever since I first saw it. This is the third attempt at it and I have finally got something worthwhile.

Vela's source type II supernova exploded approximately 11,000–12,300 years ago and is about 800 light-years away. It's apparent size is ~8degs and I've captured half of that, focusing on the northern portion.
