Description

On the nights of the 19th and 20th of this month, I had the fortune of spending the night at the El Leoncito Astronomical Complex (CASLEO). From that latitude (31 degrees south), Andromeda was transiting 15 degrees higher in the northern sky, twice as high compared to where I live.
I managed to capture 60 photos, each with a two-minute exposure and tracking. Since Andromeda was not obscured at the observatory from the platform where I had the equipment set up, I used the background stars as a guide to capture a foreground towards the end of the session. I used the same parameters to precisely match the orientation, framing, and the natural light environment generated by the moon, which was illuminated at 30%. It's remarkable how even with just 15 degrees of altitude and a good sky, you can already discern details of the galaxy's structure.
