Description

These data are provided by NoirLab (https://noirlab.edu/public/products/applications/fitsliberator/datasets/) and are from the largest telescope in the Kitt Peak National Observatory near Tucson, AZ:  the Mayall Telescope which has an aperture of 4 meters (https://noirlab.edu/public/images/xBD201805-00354-039_CC/).  Unfortunately, only R, B, and Ha masters were provided in the data set contrary to its description (https://noirlab.edu/public/products/education/edu027/).  So I had to create a synthetic green for the RGB [dpastern, Cloudy Nights: (red*.04)+(blue*.96)/2].  I used the Hagen method (https://www.nightphotons.com/guides/advanced-narrowband-combination) to incorporate the Ha into the RGB image.   Pixinsight was used to process the image with minor adjustments using Photoshop.  GraXpert was used to remove gradients and star removal was done using Starnet++.  I worked as a guide at Kitt Peak for several years.  Great experience!
