Description

Since the Moon was bright, I decided to re-image M81 (Bodes Galaxy).  I imaged it a few years ago but did not like the near vertical orientation, and it is too large to rotate without clipping.

Bodes galaxy is one of my favorites. It is really close to the Cigar Galaxy (M82) both of which can be easily seen in small telescope of binoculars. M81 is called a 'grand design spiral galaxy' which means it has prominent and distinct spiral arms. To me it just means that it is a 'grand' object.

This is an easy object to image. I just finsihed reconfiguring my mount setup so this was a good test case.
