Description

The red, curved line is SNR 110.3+11.3. On its left, PN G111.0+11.6. The blue reflection nebula is called Cederblad 201. The combination of the chocolate-colored dark nebula and the blue reflective nebula is called Van den Bergh 152.

The name Wolf's Cave was given in honor of Max Wolf, who discovered a "long, dark hole" in 1908. August Kopff, Wolf's assistant, photographed the object on October 21, 1908. A small sharp spike appears under the creature's nose in the photo, the spike is not visible in this version. That is Herbig-Haro 450, HH450.

One more thing. The creature's dark "eye" is a so-called Bok Globule, a very dark area with a concentration of gas and dust.
