Description

The high galactic latitude molecular cloud LBN 86 (Sharpless 2-63) in the constellation Sagittarius at around 700 light years away. This is the first time I've imaged an entirely dark nebula so wasn't sure what to expect come post processing as SNR is very low. Nevertheless, the ~10.5hrs of usable data gathered over two nights under a dark sky (Bortle 2), across all LRGB filters, seems to have done the job. Although ideally I’d go for >30 hrs.
Something else that caught my eye was a "green star" in the image (just above and left of the bright orange star at the center right). Green stars can't occur so must be something else. After asking some friends what they think, the consensus was that it's a planetary nebula (green from [OIII]).
