Description

At only 30 images or so in all of AB (targeting vs inclusive), this galaxy pair gets surprisingly little attention. Both are estimated at 55 million LY away and are considered interacting based on a somewhat imbalanced star formation topographic profile in 4298 along with an apparent tidal bridge between the two. Given the lack of more obvious interactive effects on either galaxy, the distance between them must be distorted due to our perspective, though also still close enough for weak interaction to occur.

Given the star formation boost the interaction causes, it's not surprising that both galaxies exhibit a large amount of Ha emission, which I added to this image (lrgb version for reference below), but couldn't find any other images that included it. Anyhow, another for the WUG catalog. : )
