an image from the old days (Anno 2012), I was using my first astro camera just six months ago, an astro-modified Canon EOS 1000D.

The autoguiding went as it should for the first time - I have to say almost like a picture book. Even after 2 hours, both curves on the PHD graph were still correct. Was just happy!!!

IC5146, also known as the Cocon Nebula, is an astronomical nebula with an embedded open star cluster in the constellation Cygnus. The star cluster is called Collinder 470. The nebula has an apparent extent of about 10 arc minutes and is about 3000 light-years from Earth; its physical extension is about 10 light years.

The nebula is a star-forming region of ionized atomic hydrogen and has emissive, reflective, and absorbing components. IC5146 is located at the eastern end of the oblong dark cloud Barnard 168 as seen from Earth and together with it is part of an extended molecular cloud. The nebula was discovered photographically by Edward Barnard on October 11, 1893, and later independently by Max Wolf (July 28, 1894).

ein Image aus alten Zeiten (Anno 2012), ich hatte gerade vor einem halben Jahr meine erste Astrokamera im Gebrauch, eine astromodifizierte Canon EOS 1000D.

Das Autoguiding lief zum ersten Mal wie es soll – ich muss schon sagen fast bilderbuchartig. Auch nach 2 Stunden waren auf dem Graph von PHD noch beide Kurven im soll. War einfach nur happy!!!

Die Aufnahme ist nach dem derzeitigen Stand der Technik bearbeitet.

IC5146, auch als Cocon-Nebel bekannt, ist ein astronomischer Nebel mit einem eingebetteten offenen Sternhaufen im Sternbild Schwan. Der Sternhaufen trägt die Bezeichnung Collinder 470. Der Nebel hat eine scheinbare Ausdehnung von rund 10 Bogenminuten und ist etwa 3000 Lichtjahre von der Erde entfernt; seine physische Ausdehnung beträgt damit ca. 10 Lichtjahre.

Der Nebel ist ein Sternentstehungsgebiet mit ionisiertem atomarem Wasserstoff und hat sowohl emittierende, reflektierende als auch absorbierende Bestandteile. IC5146 befindet sich von der Erde aus gesehen am östlichen Ende der länglichen Dunkelwolke Barnard 168 und ist mit dieser zusammen Teil einer ausgedehnten Molekülwolke. Der Nebel wurde fotografisch von Edward Barnard auf einer Aufnahme vom 11. Oktober 1893 entdeckt, später unabhängig davon auch von Max Wolf (28. Juli 1894).
