Description

CTB 1 (Cal Tech Observing List B 1) is a faint supernova remnant in Cassiopeia.  It was originally discovered by George Abell in 1955 who added it to his planetary catalog as Abell 85.  Later it was confirmed to be an SNR.

This is an HOO image with Ha captured in both Bortle 3 and 6 skies and Oiii captured in Bortle 3 skies.  The green channel is a mix of Ha and Oiii to help accent the structure of the bubble.  The RBG stars were masked with the NB luminance and minimally stretched using GHS so that they appear in the image to be somewhat occluded by the nebulosity.
