Description

While waiting for the Leo Triplet to rise, I have to fill the time with another target. I decided to record M38 with my widefield telescope. The plan was, to optimize the exposure times to get better colors as usual. With M38, it turned out really great, although the total integration time is not huge. I used data from two evenings. Thats why the frame counts are a bit strange. The  first night, i had to abort due to clouds. Yesterday evening, the conditions were much better.

I love the reddish glow from the hydrogen that is around in this region of the sky. I should try to use a diffusor one day to bloat the bigger stars a bit. This may help creating a photographically more interesting image. For now, I am fine with my result.
