Description

I was planning my first light with the recently acquired Antlia Triband. Why not the usual suspects? Tarantula had just past the meridian so I sent the telescope to NGC2070. I can't remember exactly why I set bin2 but it wasn't planned I then compared to the same amount of exposure using bin1 and it sure looked to me that the SNR was actually 4x stronger with bin2. Since it was my first target of the month and I wasn't sure how the guiding would behave I set my plan to 120s bin2 and I left it there. Despite the resolution being much worse I liked the result so that was my first attempt with bin2.
I didn't even have darks for this so I took it next night. For the next 2 nights I would be staring the imaging session with the bin2 Tarantula. This is the result.
