Description

This is from old (never published) data from 30 Aug 2022.
This phenomenon is termed "Corona Rain," observed in the aftermath of substantial solar flares. This event involves the formation of exceptionally strong magnetic field lines, which are discernible as arching trajectories within the provided animation.
These magnetic fields extend significantly into the Sun's corona, reaching distances of around 180,000 kilometers in this particular instance. These pronounced magnetic field lines exert a dynamic influence on the hydrogen plasma in the corona, which comprises rapidly moving charged particles that are sensitive to magnetic fluctuations.
he interaction between the magnetic fields and the plasma results in a deceleration and cooling of the plasma particles, thereby increasing their density. As a consequence, the denser, cooled plasma is subjected to gravitational forces and the influence of the dynamic magnetic field, precipitating a downward movement back towards the Sun's surface, analogous to terrestrial rainfall. In the coronal region of the Sun, hydrogen plasma generally exhibits a low density.
It is primarily during conditions where magnetic field lines from an active solar region extend and condense the plasma that such phenomena become visible. Typically, the plasma’s density is too low, and any emissions are obscured by the intense luminosity of the Sun, except during instances of solar eclipses. These events are ephemeral, enduring from a few hours to several days. This specific occurrence lasted for two days, during which I successfully captured data across two observation sessions. A link to an alternate session showcasing superior animation quality is provided in the image description. Now look at the animation again, you'll be amazed by the hydrogen plasma condenses seemingly out of nowhere.
