Description

While I am home sick today...I'll process another image from Okie-Tex!
Another target I have long sought -- Arp 273! There's a really cool Hubble image of this that I've seen over and over, and it's large enough to catch with my Schmidt-Cassegrain.

Arp 273, part of Halton Arp's Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies, is a pair of interacting galaxies located 300 million lightyears behind the constellation Andromeda. The two galaxies are deforming each other, and the smaller galaxy shows signs of active star formation in its core. I love the shape of these two together!
