Description

Here's a unique view of Jupiter in false colour CH4 on 10-Sep-23, with the GRS rotating out of view on the western limb.

Captured from @Lyaphine's hometown in southern Germany under excellent seeing, this image combines both OSC and mono CH4 data to produce an image that's slightly more interesting than the standard greyscale look of Methane. Here R-SynG-CH4 has been mapped to RGB, with the synthetic green channel being a combination of CH4 and the OSC Red channel. Unfortunately, the closest usable OSC capture was ~20 minutes from the centre time of the Methane images, so quite a bit of work went into fixing derotation artefacts at the limb - we're very pleased with the end result though!

CH4: 7 x 2-min at 5,500mm f/11.
R: 1 x 1-min at 12,150mm f/24.5 (Resized to match the CH4).
R-SynG-CH4 mapped to RGB.
