Description

My Messier Open Cluster journey continues as I have imaged all the well placed good globulars and brighter nebulae available and it would be a crime to let a clear night go past unmolested.

Messier 23, also known as NGC 6494, is an magnitude 5.5 open cluster of stars about 35 arcminutes in size in the northwest of the southern constellation of Sagittarius and is about 2,050 light years away and around 330 million years old.

Seeing was ok but not great last night but i managed 60 x 180 seconds exposures with no major satellite trails and no rejections necessary which is nice.
