Description

This ensemble of marvelous emission nebulae lies in the constellation of Auriga and Taurus. At the bottom right is the Spaghetti Nebula. At the top left the Flame Star Nebula and the Tadpole Nebula form the eyes of a nebula reminiscent of a dachshund’s head. However, these three nebulae have very different distances from Earth, the Flame Star Nebula about 1400 light years away, the Tadpole Nebula about eight times as far and the Spaghetti Nebula about twice as far. Our moon fits into my wide-angle image 30 x 20 times, i.e. 600 times.
