Description

This morning I set up the telescope and had planned to only do some visual observing. I saw the large provenances and decided to set up the camera and computer.
I am still new to the Solar side of things as I do mostly DSO imaging. Seeing seemed to be good. I captured about 1000 frames of the surface detail and about 1000 of overexposed frames to get the proms. I stacked them separately in AS!3 (I always get a lot of artifact from the prom data) I did a histogram adjustment and light sharpening in ImPPG and then sent them to PS.
Adjust levels and a little sharpening to the prom data. Copy all and paste on to the surface frame. I had to do a 1% reduction to the prom frame to hide the blooming. I tried this before on a different image and it didn't work. This time it did. Putting the prom on top of the surface image I used darken as the blending method. Also the surface is stretched negative. I also did an emboss effect on the surface data and lowered the opacity of that layer to taste. Final adjustments to sharpening and adding color.
I have to say, for being very new to this I am pretty happy with how this turned out. I am loving the Solar astronomy stuff.
