Description

NGC 869 and 884 double cluster.
Known as h Persi and χ (chi) Persei respectively.

Zoom in and take a closer look.  That's not noise in the background, those are stars!!!
On the final stacked TIF image, DSS counts 76,380 stars but there are probably a lot more.

Eldorado Star Party 2023!
Camped out at X-bar ranch for 3 nights leading up to the 2023 annular solar eclipse.  This was my first time trying out the new guide scope and ZWO ASIAIR to allow much longer exposures.  I could not be happier with the guiding accuracy.  This is my first open cluster image.  The light frames could have been shorter to make the stars a bit sharper, but my other targets this night were already shot at 6 minutes and I didn't want to have to take additional dark frames.
