Description

The most well known galaxy outside of our own, Andromeda is a barred spiral galaxy approximately 2.5 million light years away.  With a diameter of 152,000 light years and over 1 trillion stars, it is often called The Milky Ways twin galaxy.

Andromeda was my first ever deep sky photo, and since moving south to Melbourne, I have been itching to image it again from a more northerly latitude.  An opportunity came up to take my portable setup with me to Far North Queensland and I managed to finally image it again.

Total imaging time for this project was 2hrs and 22mins.

Registering and stacking done using Astro Pixel Processor.
Processed, combined and edited using PixInsight.
