Description

I really wanted to update my M16 image series with the ASI1600, but I do not think that I will put this camera back on this cope for some time, the 6200 is working wonderfully, and with this FOV it is hard to resist using it. But it was a great target to compare the 2 cameras, right now I do have roughly the same amount of integration time in this and the previous M16 image.

So I star aligned both in version C and have them side by side. Processing played a significant role of course, and no matter how close you want to make the images, there always will be the slight differences. Most "changing" process is the "translation" of the original SHO image into the "gold/blue" color pattern. Slight changes to reduce the green (with the green mask) have a tremendous impact on the final outcome. I played so many times around this by now, and sometimes the results were nice, sometimes pretty bad. And I have not found a "standard" to do this, it is from image to image different.

So here my final result of the almost full frame of the Eagle Nebula, at 925mm FL this is just wonderful. Full frame sensors are nice!

Description: Frank and Rolf asked for a direct comparison (6200 vs 1600) between the stacked images of the 3 channels. And indeed, they are correct, this should tell the most. I believe the conditions were very similar, if at all the 6200 images had slightly worse conditions, definitely was warmer when I took those.
Note: The gain of the 1600 was at 300, offset 50; for the 6200: gain 100, offset 30.
I "Star Aligned" the 6200 images to the 1600 frame, that is fair I would say.

Description: Some more processing of some ideas that I found watching some YouTube videos. More surrounding nebula, more stars, pretty much the same center, which was the goal 😊.

Description: A good friend of me needed an eye catcher for his business partners when they enter his office and when he saw my image he was sold. I passed him the original file and he made a 3x2 foot print out of it and hung it there where everybody will see it when visiting him. According to him it was still very well resolved even at that size, which is good to know since I did not dare to commit myself to get one of those large ones!
