Description

[From Wikipedia] The Heart Nebula (also known as the Running dog nebula, IC 1805, Sharpless 2-190) is an emission nebula, 7500 light years away from Earth and located in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered by William Herschel on 3 November 1787. It displays glowing ionized hydrogen gas and darker dust lanes.

This is a capture of the Heart Nebula as seen from my Bortle-5 backyard a couple of nights ago. I used an Optolong L-Enhance filter with an astromodded Nikon D5300. Postprocessed with Siril 1.2.0.

Title: IC1805 - Heart Nebula

Description: I reprocessed this image using a different workflow to get a Foraxx palette from a HOO image.
I followed this tutorial from Paulyman Astro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9x43Kbyd90 and got the Foraxx equations from https://thecoldestnights.com/2020/06/pixinsight-dynamic-narrowband-combinations-with-pixelmath/
