Description

I finally bit the bullet and started to learn PI. To get me going in the right direction I had Connor Matherne (@cosmic.speck on Instagram) do a tutorial for me with this data (this is my data). This is my attempt at re-creating what he did. I probably turned many of the dials up to 8 or 9 when they should be 4-5 (haha). But since this was a learning experience I went with it.

I was never happy with the image when processing it fully in PS. This is much better IMO. I'm still not happy with it, but I think much of that is the primary data. I do have nearly 10 hrs on it in RGB using a 183C and 4 hours of Ha using a 183M. But overall the data is just ok. I will be sticking to monochrome in the future and this should help a bit more with the noise that was the main issue.

I was not going to post this here because compared to all the great images out there this is just eh, but I think for me to grow and learn I need to post this here. Instagram hides all the flaws and lets you get away with less than good images.

In any case, I am super excited to get going using Pix and cannot wait to continue to learn and use it on future projects. I'm sure it will be a slow transition, but I'm now headed along that pathway!

I will not enter in all the details for acquisition at this time but a quick summary is:
