Description

Here's a little animation of Jupiter with a complete transit of Io's shadow. The time span is approximate 2.5 hours. The seeing wasn't great, but it was fairly constant, which is important for an animation. Adjusting the various seeing phases of 40 images was quite a hassle.🤪
The blue ball at the bottom left is not a moon, but the star Sigma Arietis. Callisto, as so often, didn't fit in the picture.
Very interesting, in the last pictures it was already day and there were no more stars to be seen, but the pictures still look exactly the same as at the beginning. The background is still black and the moons are just as bright.
