Description

This image was taken to test my new Astronomik L-3 Luminance filter.  Previously, I was getting weird asymmetric star spikes around bright stars when using a Baader UV/IR block filter.  I wasn't sure what part of my imaging train was causing the issue (see revision B).  Acting on the advice I received from Simon of Woodland Hills Camera and Telescope, I purchased an Astronomik L-3 filter.  Sure enough, the L-3 filter fixed the problem.  For those who are experiencing this issue while shooting with a UV/IR block filter, you might want to look into the Astronomik L-3 Luminance filter.
