I'm of Cornish (UK) origin from the mid fifties and still live there. I became interested in astrophotography after getting an image of the Milky Way with a static tripod and DSLR. I moved on to a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer and soon joined it to an old laptop for data acquisition. I then took a fairly large leap up to an EQ6R Pro and followed that with a SkyWatcher Quattro 10" Newtonian. When it arrived I wondered whether I had made a mistake but that feeling was forgotten as soon ( several weeks) as I had worked out how to join everything up and was capturing light at F4. Now the rig has grown with useful additions and I use it at every opportunity to make my own images of some amazing objects out there in space.
