I'm based in the Southwest UK and started astronomy and photography in the '70s. My first telescope was a hand ground six inch reflector which I still have today (and I will get the mirrors recoated one day so that I can use it again... Promise 😉). Seven years ago I decided to build an observatory as I'm not getting any younger and my back was really not happy lugging gear about all the time. That started my journey into Astrophotography and I've spent quite a bit of time (and money 😂), on it ever since. The only real problem is the awful weather in the UK, clear nights are a rare commodity, but fortunately I retired recently so I can now stay up all night and sleep all day if I want to.

I am in a Bortle 5 area and use a variety of equipment to capture a wide range of objects , I just love playing with telescopes of all types.
