Description

What a fabulous region for us to image and enjoy even for us backyard warriors!  I may have to capture year after year...like Andromeda.  This is the widest I've captured on this target and at first I thought I had an optical issue as there appears to be a vertical fairly straight line demarkation on the right side, but checking other wide shots...this is real.   Makes me wonder what's going on.

I wanted to capture the star fields that abound...they are RGB and I tried not to overdue their saturation. I'm really happy with the stars and love the star image.  The ASKAR300 with the 6200MM is truly impressive even at full resolution and has continued to exceed my expectations.  I did drizzle at 1.3x.  The only drawback are the file sizes 🤪.  The individual stacked channels are 556MBs after slight cropping; the SHO combined file is 665MBs; the individual subs are 122MBs;  the original JPG file is 71MBs...I reduced the resolution down to 20MBs for this post.  Hey, but hard drives are cheap...right?  Oh yeah, processing is a slow bitch-kitty even on my 20 core Intel I9 iMac.

I will be on a non-astro trip (Iceland) next 10 days and my not be astrobin responsive. 🤪 -john
